Hyperion Oil Iraq, WOW! that sure gets Hyperion away from Foreign Oil.
Bet the war helped... get lots of oil and contract companies in the country.
Remember the "Calabi Lobby", from earlier posts ?

Just a note FYI. The Keystone XL pipeline has also agreed to provide an on ramp to provide a viable, low cost way to transport oil from the Bakken formation in North Dakota. North Dakota ranks 4th in oil production in the U.S. It is not tar sands oil. Currently the crude oil must be trucked out or shipped by rail, and get docked approx $10/bbl. due to this fact.
The oil industry has been a huge economic boost for North Dakota. With the Bakken formation stretching into South Dakota, it may prove to be a boost for South Dakota, however the transportation issue would also be a problem with oil production in South Dakota.
From the looks of the last session in Pierre, it looks like South Dakota could use lots of boosts. |
