Gorilla was the code name for the newly announced Hyperion Energy Center that may be located near Elk Point in Union County South Dakota.  The Gorilla Project is reported to be an 8 to 10 billion dollar capital outlay that will require up to 10,000 employees during a four year construction phase and will have 1800 full time employees during operation.  Representatives of the Gorilla Project are trying to acquire options on land in an area that encompasses 20 square miles.  Approximately 2000 acres will be covered by the facility and the remainder will be considered a “buffer zone”.  The project had been shrouded in mystery and there was very little actually known about the project.  Although the name Hyperion and the nature of the project are now known, there are still many questions that remain unanswered.  This site is dedicated to the idea that more facts should be publicly known about Gorilla and that there should be one location with links to anything related to Gorilla or the Hyperion Energy Center.
